Steve Hargadon gave this presentation on Why Web 2.0, Open Source and Open Content Matter So Much. I decided this year was my year to concentrate on learning as much as I could about open source solutions and, in particular, the use of netbooks in my elementary classroom. This session got me started off right.

Enjoy the podcast << click to download mp3 file for your mobile device

This year’s FETC keynote speaker, Ed Begley, Jr., gave a wonderful presentation on the topic Living Simply So Others Can Simply Live. Ed is an actor and environmentalist, and he currently is also one of the hottest speakers on eco-living in America. He hosts the TV show “Living With Ed” and promotes sustainable living for all of us.

For those who don’t know, FETC is an educational-technology conference that, this year, is celebrating its 30th year. Happy birthday, FETC!

I plan to post all the sessions I was able to attend, so check back for more...

Enjoy the podcast! << click to download mp3 file for your mobile device

I hate the term Web 2.0. The read-write web is a little bit better. In any event, this video is very good at describing the web technologies we have available today.

I’ve seen this a couple of times, most recently I ran across it at Wesley Fryar’s Digital Dialog. This little clip makes a good point about trying new things and the fear many people have of doing so.
